Beekeeping can generate income and reduce poverty

For beekeepers to keep bees successfully they need advice, training and information. This African Beekeeping Information Portal aims to deliver information freely to those who need it. We encourage group leaders, trainers and extension workers, across Africa, to disseminate this information to others.

 

 

What we Do

Beeswax

Most beekeepers in tropical Africa harvest beeswax and honey together (they do not re-use comb). Because chemicals are not used African beeswax is clean and in high demand all over the world. More information.

February 2009. Honey from these countries have had their Residue Monitoring Plans approved and their honey is accepted into the EU: Ethiopia, RSA, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia. More information.
